Is this right for me?

It's hard to know where to start. This page should help you decide, and the free 15-minute call is there for anything it doesn't answer.

We're likely to be a good fit if…

  • something that happened in the past still affects how you feel, sleep or relate to people

  • you've tried talking therapy and it didn't quite reach the problem

  • you find it hard to put things into words

  • you're looking for help for a child or teenager after a difficult start

  • you can commit to regular weekly sessions

You don't need to…

  • have a diagnosis

  • know exactly what's wrong

  • be "creative" to benefit from art psychotherapy

  • talk about the worst things straight away

How long does it take?

It varies. Help after a single event can take a few months. Longer-standing or childhood trauma usually takes longer. We review progress together regularly, so you always know where things stand.

What is EMDR like?

EMDR helps the brain process memories that still feel stuck. You hold a memory in mind while following side-to-side eye movements or taps. You stay in control, can stop at any time, and don't have to describe every detail out loud. We only begin EMDR once you have ways to feel steady.

When another service may be better

We're an outpatient service and can't offer crisis or emergency care. If you're at immediate risk, or need intensive or inpatient support, please contact your GP, NHS 111 (option 2 for mental health), or call 999. Samaritans are free on 116 123, any time.
